Viewer trouble with Visual Studio 2015

I have inherited an ASP.NET Codebase that uses Crystal Reports. The reports are displayed using the Crystal Reports Viewer.

I am unable to get the reports to display in browser. I have already fought through and fixed several problems including the well known 'bobj not found' issue. The current problem as follows:

I'm getting the following JavaScript error: "Unable to get property 'value' of undefined or null reference".

This is the javascript that reports the error.

bobj.crv.stateManager.setComponentState('crystalReportViewer__UI',eval('('+document.getElementById('__CRYSTALSTATEcrystalReportViewer').value+')'));

The document.getElementById method is looking for an element with the name __CRYSTALSTATEcrystalReportViewer.

This element doesn't exist. There is a div with the ID crystalReportsViewer but nothing with the __CRYSTALSTATE prefix.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Ron

    What version of the SDK are you using?

    Not sure how the viewer page was created but if you dropped the viewer onto the page then delete it and added it back in. Could be the old version is still being used.

    Also check the references in the web.config file and make sure they are all version 13, if using CR for VS SP 17.
