Use VDS as LDAP for 3rd-party-software

Hello together,

we want to use the VDS as LDAP backend for 3rd-party-software.

The idea is that only specific identities with specific attributes will be visible for the software. Therefore we do not want to use our central AD/LDAP as backend.

My questions are:

1) Which template should I use?

2) Is it possible to provide only specific identities (e.g. all identities which have value "abc" in attribute "Z_BUILDING"?

3) Is it possible to provide only specific attributes (e.g. MX_LASTNAME, MX FIRSTNAME and Z_BUILDING)?

Thanks and best wishes

Michael

    Hi Michael,

Yes this is certainly possible. If you want to do your own attributes the standard IDS virtualization probably won't do it for you. I have a query somewhere that should help with that. Let me dig it up and I can turn it into a blog showing VDS integration.

How quickly do you need it?

    Thanks,

    Matt
