How to upgrade tier automaticlly for membership?

Dear Expert,

Our business scenario is customer's points >=5000. then this customer should be VIP automatically.

Could u pls help on my question how to set this logic in standard config?

My understanding is the reward rule should be set firstly, then a member activity should be generated. By processing the member activity, system will check customer's situation satisfy reward rule or not. if yes, customer's tier will be upgraded automatically.

Am I right? The question is, how to generate member activity automatically? Can it done by standard?

please read following WIKI which covers everything for Loyalty Management: Loyalty Management - CRM - SCN Wiki  in order to answer the first question.


For the second question, how should the Member Activities be generated automatically? This needs to be achieved by your business scenario. In order to create a Member Activity you can call Function Module: CRM_LOY_MA_CREATE_API.

Hi Markus,

Thanks for your answer. That means whenever an points change MA created, we need to trigger FM CRM_LOY_MA_CREATE_API to create a tier change MA, then the tier change MA will be checked by reward rule of tier change, to see if the reward rule is applicable. if yes, tier will be changed.

Am I right?

Hello Hedy,

the membership is earning points via a member activity. Therefore if a membership is earning points, reward rules can be set to check if the membership is allowed to achieve a certain requirement such as a tier level change for example.

Hi Markus,

That means use one MA to earn points and upgrade level at the same time(if reward rule for upgrade level is achieved), right?

Hello Hedy,

yes, the Member Activity is responsible for the point transaction and the Reward Rule checks if the transaction applies to a certain defined rule and does the Tier Level change.
