Help with Hyperlinking Document Prompts

The question I have relates to building a formula in a hyperlink document prompt. The hyperlink is affected by the input controls of my original document, the problem I am having is when I select two items from the category on my input control, the clicking the link will show the results for all 5 items in the category, not the two I selected from the input controls. Would an If Then Else statement be needed for my formula?

    Hi J

There is a formula that solves your issue efficiently.

Don't use IF THEN ELSE, but try the 'ReportFilter()' formula.

    • For example, you might have an input control to filter out countries. This input control is set on dimension 'Country' and filters out the entire sheet, not just a single table/chart etc (THIS IS IMPORTANT).
    • You can the enter directly in the hyperlink document prompt 'ReportFilter([Country])' and this will restrict the country data to match what the user has selected with the input control.
      • You might have five countries in the radio control input control list (USA,Canada,UK,France,Mexico)
      • User would then select USA and Canada
      • If the Hyperlink prompt formula is set to 'ReportFilter([Country])', the prompt text would be set to USA and Canada only.
