How do Development, Test, and Production Environments apply to BO Cloud?

Hello All,

In a real customer scenario, typically we have 3 environments and those are mentioned in the title.

How can we set it up the same way on BO Cloud?

Does the customer need to purchase multiple tenants?

If we use multiple tenants, then use deployment feature to deploy new content, would that still be possible when the stories are connected to a live HCP?

Imagine the end-user viewing a story wants it to be updated to include a new chart. Would the development team jump straight into the production environment and do it? That wouldn't make sense.

Thank you,

generally speaking, BusinessObjects Cloud contracts are for a subscription to a single tenant. This can be understood as being "production only". here's a link an example BOC agreement ... you will see that it details "in some cases, there may be a Test Tenant". but to date, i have rarely seen customers take this option.

so if you are developing directly into production (which is quite likely), then you can use Folder structures (therefore using the ability to deny access permissions) to effectively have a "development -like" area for content creation.

Don't forget also, there are currently limited "promotion management" or "transportation" options between cloud instances (.. Ok sure, you can export models and stories..) so don't expect things like dynamic connection over-rides, or re-pointing workflows like 'change data source'.

    Kind regards,
