Split the report at least 3 or 4 and merge it later

Hi All,

During UAT Testing, scheduled excel sheet doesn't have any data after successful execution , since this report is fetching more than 7m rows.

To over come this situation ,my colleague suggested to split the report at least 3 or 4 and merge it later.

Is it the right solution for the above mentioned issue ? If yes.

Kindly let me know, how do we Split the report at least 3 or 4 and merge it later.

Thanks

Ram

What is the reports destination in scheduling? email or file system?

Are you sure you are getting 7 millions records in webi?

First of all the report should not be intended to retrive 7M records in Webi. But if that is the case then if you have any date dimension in your report then have a prompt for date and then run it multiple times for different dates and then combine the O/P produced by them.

For e.g. if report is pulling data from 2008 to 2010 then run the report for 1st Jan 2008 till 31 Dec 2008 similarly for 1st Jan 2009 till 31 Dec 2009 and 1st Jan 2010 till 31 Dec 2010 combine and merge these three O/P of excel.

Similarly if you have Category then create a Prompt filter on Category and run report for a single or group few catagories for result and then combine them.

I would go for an ETL extraction rather than a report.

As said, the tool is not intended to handle that kind of requirements.
