Transformation file based on dimension properties

dear BPC Gurus

I've created a transformation file which I'm using for importing transaction data from BW.

I'm trying to create a rule for dimension FLOW in the transformation file that:

If the G/L account type (dimension ACCOUNT, property ACCTYPE) is AST or LEQ, put FLOW as F99., i.e. *STR(F99)

If the G/L account type (dimension ACCOUNT, property ACCTYPE) is INC or EXP, put FLOW as F10., i.e. *STR(F10)

Is this achievable via Javascript?

I couldn't find any standard transformation formula that can do that....

Only if you have the property in the BW infoobject, there's no way to access the bpc dimension property though transformation/conversions...

Other alternative would be using ABAP.

    Cheers,

    Hi Edmund,

As Lucas rightly suggested that you cannot use BPC properties while loading data from BW info object or a cube.

For you requirement instead of putting the logic on ACCTYPE you can use the GL accounts to decide the flow type. If the GL account is a Balance sheet item(attribute of GL accounts) then Flow should be F99 otherwise F10.

Or if the GL accounts have series no. to know whether its EXP, AST accounts like Accounts starting with 1XXXXXX are AST accounts, 2XXXXXX are INC etc. For this also you can write a logic using IF condition.

    Hope this helps...

    Regards,

    JP

Please show the transformation file to load master data for ACCOUNT dimension!

    Edmund,

Check your BW cube and see if the BS and IS flags are part of the BW source cube. It is a standard BW field (0GLACCEXT) in most of the FI_GL extractors. If the field is not there have your BW folks add it to the source cube and you can use that field to assign the flow.

    Hope this helps!
