Query Prompts in SAP Dashboards Query Browser are not Refreshing Dynamically ,it remains same as initial load Values

Hello Experts,

I am using SAP Dashboards 4.1 SP4 and facing problem with query prompts in Query Browser are not refreshing dynamically, it remains same as my initial load

I have come across the following scenarios over here:

  1. 1. I am using single table, it consists of Patient ID, and Diagnosis Code, Diagnosis date ,
  2. 2. Requirement: based on Diagnosis date selection I have to display count of customers for each Diagnosis Code with Diagnosis Code List of values multi selector filter/Prompt
  3. 3. While adding the query using query browser i created prompt for decease code, but in the dashboard preview the query is not taking the result values in Prompt instead it is taking the value that is passed during the add Query. (initial load Diagnosis code always)
  4. 4. That means My Diagnosis code prompt values are not refreshing based on Diagnosis date selection
  5. 5. But in the chart Diagnosis code vs count is showing correctly that means result of query is executing fine my Prompt LOV's are not refreshing

Query Browser

Result objects

Diagnosis Code, Patient count

Filter section:

Diagnosis Code Prompt with List of values

Diagnosis Date prompt

Urgent help is required and appreciated.

also I would like to know that will SAP dashboards supports dynamic query prompts for "Refresh Before components are loaded" queries or not?

Thanks,

Sreekanth

Don't check it the preview window, in query browser panel first include the objects you required and the prompts you need to set then bind those values into the excel. Finally take them to the components.

Make sure that you have enabled the trigger cell options and passing the prompt values exactly to the report. This should work fine. Refresh before components are loaded helps in case of less components and data, because it will take time to hit the DB every-time you invoke the dashboard. But its your call on this.

My Diagnosis code prompt values are not refreshing based on Diagnosis date selection.

Is this a hierarchy ? then only diagnosis code will come based on diagnosis date. As a workaround create a separate query for diagnosis date and create prompt for this query as diagnosis date, so once you select the date automatically diagnosis code will appear based on date. finally for the main query you can combine both the prompt and you can trigger it.

Hope you got it.
