SUM ERROR: Check the browser console for more information.

Hi,

I started an EHP8 upgrade on SUM SP17, although the upgrade is going on i have an issue with a SUM error pop up that appears which says "Internal error occurred", "Detailed Message : Message from service :  ,| Check the browser console for more information"

Please find the below screens

Although the upgrade is running in the backup, everytime I load or refresh the SUM screen this error comes up.

And everytime i have to input something on the screen and click next, this pop up comes up.

Can you suggest how i can get rid of this.

I check the Host agent and we are on 721 with the lastest patch 7

Hi Guys,

I updated the SAP HOST AGENT 7.21 to SP 17.

Then i restarted the SUM. ,But when i proceed clicking on the activities that appear in Extraction Phase I still see the window.

So i had a look at sapstartsrv.log..and i found the below. i mean the upgrade is running, but i want to get rid of the annoying window.

Hi Sebastian,

You need to follow the below steps to resolve your issue.

- Stop the SUM process and as nothing yet been performed by the system

- Delete the existing SUM directory.

- Downlaod the SUM SP17 patch 6

- Extract the SUM

- Register it with SAPhostagent

- Start the SUM in browser.

There will be some problem with the your SUM version and i have faced this issue earlier which didn't get resolved by updating the saphostagent.

Earlier also i have mentioned the process.

HI,

Stop SUM completely as it is in the extraction phase now. Try to upgrade host agent to available patch level for the release. And start SUM again. It seems it is the connection issue between web browser and SUM. Hope this kind of issues may be sorted out by restarting SUM process again.

the latest version is 17:

SAPHOSTAGENT17_17-20009394.SAR

SAP HOST AGENT 7.21 SP17

Please check it again.

Well, first of all I would recommend to update the HostAgent, because there are known bugs with older version.

Otherwise I know this phenomenon.

The solution was to restart my frontend pc and to login again... not very handy.

But first of all please update the HostAgent.

Patch 17 is available for download. Please update it and restart the SUM to check the issue again.

Can you please paste/check the dev_hostagent log file.

It will record the information of error.

I think this line says where the error is HTTPHandlerManager : HTTP Handler found for /lmsl/sumabap/SID/doc/sluigui/resources/sap/ui/core/themes/base/fonts/SAP-icons.ttf

Error in the log is that it is getting lmsl is getting detached from the browser.

you have to upgrade the hostagent , in the system and also if the issue does not get resolve , then you have to extract the SUM tool and start it from beginning.
