Deletion of Prod.Scheduling Profile.

Hello all,

Can we delete the Prod scheduling profiles in OPKP which are already been used? Now the client asking them to remove as they do not need them.

If I delete them in OPKP as they are allowing me to delete. My question is what will be the impact on materials, where there profiiles assigned in their work scheduling view.

    Hi,

Production scheduling profile is used if we want to auto release production order when its gets created or any documents attachment etc. If we want to do auto goods receipt also then, it can be maintained in the production scheduling profile. This profile needs to be assigned in the work scheduling view of material master.

Kindly check any If a Production scheduling profile is attached to this default scheduler in OPJ9, then that will also be picked up in the order so kindly remove the same than try to update the material master by MM17.

if you any other query kindly revert.

    Thanks & Regards

    Hello

There could be many usage of the Production scheduling Profile, one of the usage is the picking of the order type while converting the planned order to production order.

So first you have to look why the production scheduling profile was implemented to your project.

And than before go for changes test the possible scenario where the functionality of the production scheduling profile is used in the testing server.

That will be helpful for you and for us also if you share the results 😉.

    Regards

    Hello,

You can delete production scheduling profile, but before that you have to first delete production scheduler assigned to that profile.

Also, the impact of it can be implemented on the production order. The system is adopting the material master data and bom data while creating or releasing the order. Hence, after deleting the profile, the system can't access the respective bom for that material.

Secondly, if there is Batch management is activated, then the automatic batch creation would also be restricted. Also your order can not be scheduled automatically.

    Hello,

First go to MARC and check whether production scheduling profile or production scheduler OPJ9 or CORU with scheduling profile in question are used in material master. If it used the remove it from material master and then delete the production scheduling profile from OPKP or CORY if required.

    • Hello

Deleting customizing data is never recommended. If this profile is still used anywhere, it can lead to problems and inconsistencies.

Nevertheless, if you want to delete it, at least you should ensure that it is not used anywhere, on materials or orders.

    Hi,

Deleting any data from customizing which is used in your materials are not recommended. First of all system won't allow you to do that as you already have master data set with those values. there will be inconsistency than.

So first find out the list of materials which uses that Prod Scheduling profile and remove that profile using mass transaction.

Then you can go ahead and delete the Prod scheduling profile.

    Thanks,

    AK
