Hi Friends,

I have changed MRP type as "VV" forecast based planning and consumption of the Independent requirement already happens when the sales order is entered however

is it possible to somewhere put a setting for these ForReq forecasts to also consume already open sales orders, deliveries etc...(begore GI is done)

could you please provide some light on this.

Thanks & Regards,

Srinika.

Good morning.

From what i know, VV MRP type does not take into consideration sales orders etc. In VV the ForReq requirement is only reduced when a consumption is posted (ie goods issue on delivery, 261 move, etc). So, i am curious on your statement that "I have changed MRP type as "VV" forecast based planning and consumption of the Independent requirement already happens when the sales order is entered" as this is not the standard system behaviour. Can you please share some screenshots?

In order to achieve what you are looking for, you should switch to another MRP type that considers net requirements planning (ie PD), where, in its customisation you can mark "forecasting" as obligatory (DONOT alter PD, make a copy of it and then change its settings). In this new type, remove the "Forecast requirements relevant to MRP" indicator.

Run the forecast for your materials. With the previous settings, forecast will not be automatically transferred to demand management. Put in your materials a strategy that allows for PIR reduction (i use 40, but this depends on your business scenario), and in MRP3 screen (or in the MRP group) put backwards and forwards condumption periods in days, so MRP checks in order to reduce the requirements. Finally, transfer the forecasting results to demand management using transaction MD70 and PIR type = VSF.

Then, after PIRs are transferred to demand management, you will see that when a sales order is entered, the VSF requirement is reduced accordingly. If not, we will have to check if the requirement coming from the sales order matches with the requirement class of the strategy you are using.
