C4C running on top of HCP

I have found a document: https://www.sapappsdevelopmentpartnercenter.com/media/cms_page_media/311/20150525_C4C_HCP_updatedversion.pdf

In this document, it states that "SAP Cloud for Customer (C4C) runs on top of SAP HANA Cloud Platform (HCP)". If this is true, does that mean if we need to create a customer specific extension using HCP's Java EE, we can use the C4C tenant's HCP? If not, how does this architecture works?

    Hello Marc,

    The answer is "NO".

    - HCP is an underlying platform. The extensions and the customer specific developments are still done using KUT- key user tools on c4c and Applicaion cloud studio(PDI). (These are called in-app extensions)

    - In case, you have very complex extension requirement which cannot "at all" accomplished with KUT and application cloud studio then you should go for Out-App extension which is done via Hana cloud platform tools.

    Regards,

    Saurabh
