I am looking to improve the current functionality to manage BOMs in Plant Maintenance. We use IBAU (Maintenance assemblies) to structure equipment and select stock items on work orders & task lists. This works well when it comes to structure equipment and select stock items on the work orders and tasks lists. However I think this can be improved, if the Maintenance Assembly would have the same functionality as the MM/PP phantom material. A phantom material can be assigned to a production order its depending BOM item components get exploded, creating material reservations for its Childs. If the IBAU would behave as the Phantom assembly: - The IBAU material could be assigned to the PM task list, and then transferred to the work order, exploding the BOM in the work order material requirements. BOM master data administration will decrease.. as maintaining the BOM would update its referenced task lists - The IBAU material could be assigned to the work order components and then its BOM exploded, creating material requirements for its Childs... Does anybody has the same requirement? Thoughts ? Suggestions on how to improve this process?
