##### How to Re-Settle Trips in Current Payroll Period

### Trips Settled to Payroll in Future Payroll Period, does not Re-Settle to Current Payroll Period

# Environment #
- SAP FI and SAP HCM are different systems
- Travel Management [TV] module is configured in SAP FI
- Payroll [PY] module is configured in SAP HCM

- Travel Management Payroll Control Record [ZT] exists in SAP HCM
- ZT does not exist in SAP FI
- ZT is not relevant for payroll accounting and only used to settle trips
- When settling trips [TCode: PREC] in SAP FI, ZT is derived from SAP HCM via ALE

- Employee Related Payroll Control Records exists in SAP HCM and SAP FI
- All are relevant for payroll accounting


# Scenario #
- PY Control Record ZT was set to One Year in the future
- Some Trips with Employee Related Income Expenses (i.e. Kilometers Travelled on Company Business and/or Per Diems (Fixed Daily Allowances)) thus settled to the future payroll period ZT


# Effect #
- The Employee Tax Certificate (IRP5) will be understated in the 2017 Tax Year and overstated in the 2018 Tax Year


# Correction Attempt #
- Re-Create the Incorrect Scenario in DEV (FI-TV + HCM-PY)
- therefore:
- In SAP HCM
- Set PYar ZT == incorrect future PY period
- In SAP FI
- Create New Trip in any FI period (ZT == future PY period)
- TCode: PREC - Settle the trip
- TCode: PRPY - Transfer to Payroll (in the incorrect ZT period)


# Thus #

- In SAP HR
- Keep ZT == incorrect future PY period
- In SAP FI
- PRRL - Reset 'ACCOUNTED' Trips to 'TO BE ACCOUNTED'


- In SAP HR
- Set ZT == current PY period
- In SAP FI
- PREC - (Re) Settle trips
- ZT == current period
- trips are settled to current period
- In SAP FI
- PRPY - Transfer to Payroll
- Trips are not transferred to payroll where ZT == current payroll period

########## TEST FAILED ##########


### However, when doing the reverse, then the test is successfull

Thus:

- In SAP FI
- PRRL - Reset 'ACCOUNTED' Trips to 'TO BE ACCOUNTED'

- Thus, in SAP HR, ZT == current period


- In SAP HR
- Set ZT == the SAME future period

- In SAP FI
- PREC - (Re) Settle trips
- i.e. ZT == the SAME future period as before

- PRPY - Transfer to Payroll
- TRIP DATA IS TRANSFERRED
