Excel Add-on: Availability of Reload Cache button

Hi team,

We are working in IBP 6.2, and we have a question related to the availability of "Reload Cache" button in the Excel Add-on (Master Data -> Manage).

It seems that when you login in the Excel Add-on you have this option available. Then, when I create a new Master Data, and I want to see this data created in our Planning View, I should select the "Reload cache", but this option is sometimes available (and I can see the data correctly), and sometimes is disable.

So my question is when it is available? Do I need to meet any special condition when I create a Master Data to have this button Available?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards,

David.

Hi David,

What version of the IBP Excel add-in are you currently using? 6.2.3.0 ?

On my testings I always had the reload cache option available. Please can you provide us some steps on how to force the plugin to not have this option available at some time in the process?

Best regards,

Ivan

Hi Ivan,

Thanks for your answer. Yes, we are currently using IBP 6.2.3.0

Let me explain the steps to have this option disable.

1.- Loggin in IBP (Then I have the option available).

2.- Open any Planning view, then this option in the new book is disable.

And also in the first book where it was available in the step 1 is disable now.

So there is not a normal behaviour, sometimes is available and sometimes not.

Any idea why? Or it should be always available and it is an issue

Thanks,

David.

Hi David,

I got feedback from the responsible developer that that button is disabled as soon as a single planning view is open. The button triggers a silent log-off/log-on to re-load the master data and if you do that with a planning view open, the system would lose all planning sessions that support the planning views. The button is there for master data maintenance, not for planning.

Hope this helps;

Best regards,

Ivan

Hi Ivan,

Thanks for your answer. It seems that it is working as you said. I need to close all Planning Views to have the Reload Cache button available.

I checked and it is working. Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

David.
