How to exclude storage location for Quality Inspection ?

Hello Everyone,

I am new to QA module and need help.

For particular storage location when I receive the goods, I do not want the stock to go for Quality inspection.

Is there any configuration possible ?

I checked one SCN thread and they say it requires ABAP development for user exit.

Thanks,

Khushbu.

    Hi Kushbu,

Requirement is very strange !!!!!. Can you elaborate the reason behind this requirement. why your business wants skip quality inspection of stocks when they are received in to a particular storage location.

Coming to solution for this, it is not possible in standard SAP. You need go for some kind of enhancement during GR for a purchase order.

Only work around can be deactivate inspection type 01 and receive all the stocks in to the storage location (where quality inspection not required). Activate stock transfer inspection (08) and transfer the stocks from the initial storage location to storage location(s) where quality inspection is required. of course this has to be done immediately and this will increase end users work.

    Thanks

    Kumar

Im not sure but this might work out. You got to run a test to confirm.

    1. QM view of the material- Set the indicator off for 'Post to inspection stock'
    2. In the order, there is a tab referring to Good receipt. This has a field 'stock type' where you can put Quality stock for required storage location and for other locations, put unrestricted under stock type.

This might or might not work. It is my pure guess and you can confirm after running a test.

BTW:  from a  business process perspective, this is a dangerous business process.  Once the material is out of QI, anyone with inventory transactions authority is free to move that stock between storage locations at any time.  What is to prevent material going from location to location to location?

There is a difference between GR inspections (01 insp. origins), and transfers, (08 insp. origins).  Is your limitation on just GR's?  What about material movements that are not QM relevant making these moves between storage locations?

I would be extremely cautious of this type of practice.  It's not really what SAP had in mind as a best business practice.

PS>  In looking at this morning, I don't think I was clear in my concern.  Becasue many people can move stock between storage locations, and new inspection lots are not necessarily triggered, you can easily lose track of which batches have been inspected and which ones haven't.  This potentially allows uninspected material the possibility of being moved in a storage location and used for a process that requires an inspected material.

    Dear Khushbu,

can you elaborate further, 1. whether the particular material already under quality inspection? 2. it's really storage location or WIP location you want to exclude. 3. which moment type while coming into storage location.

    Dear,

if, it's MVT101 from vendor, you can use Quality info record to skip the lot from QI
