Using Reporting Objects in IDT- Would like to know how to include the Reporting Objects that are present in UDT in IDT?

     I have been struggling to use the Reporting Objects that are currently available in UDT in the new tool IDT. Please let me know the correct steps.

Hello Samir,

Have you converted the .unv to .unx using IDT?

Also is that an OLAP universe?

Yes Niraj. I have converted. I first copied one of the universes from UDT that had the Reporting Objects. Then exported this copied universe in IDT and converted it to .unx . After that I copied the Reporting Objects from this universe to my customized universe.

what is inside in the reporting object? what happened after copying in the IDT?

Hi Amit,

           The Reporting Object was part of the UDT. Since they are not available in IDT, they were copied from UDT and IDT and converted to IDT format before being used in BI. However it seems it does not work.

Dear Niraj,

                  Please find the screenshot attached as requested for the Reporting Object. I do not understand why this is so complicated. First of all, I feel the Reporting Objects which were part of old tool UDT should also be present in IDT and if they are not, then there should be an easy way of using them in IDT and BI.

Thanks All. I resolved this issue myself by using the option of Using Custom Script on BI. There is no need to do anything else. Wondering why no one from SAP offered me this easy option rather than converting the universes and exporting the reporting objects etc.
