Automation of Workflow cleanup activity

Hi Everyone,

We do manual activity for workflow cleanup by tcode swwl but we need to automate it as it has entries in Lakhs per day. So, it is much more time consuming. Also tried to schedule a background job but didn't work as it got terminated because of number of entries.

Please suggest some idea to do so.

All these workflows are related to IDOC's with a certain task numbers. So, we need to delete the one which are in waiting status.

Or, you change the idocs where feedback upon error is not through wf task.

then you don't have to delete workitems any more.

Or you find out where the idocs are coming from and deactivate them.

What are these workflows that need to be deleted every day? That seems very unusual. Why not just stop them from generating in the first place, if they are not required?

And if this is a Production system, you shouldnt be using SWWL at all.

Please give some more information on what the issue is.
