The system maps the calendar year to the fiscal year

Morning,

Our actuals from ERP for PS reflects incorrectly on PPM Portal.

Our current Financial Year is from 26.03.16 to 25.03.17 , which is 2017

26.03.2016 to 25.04.2016 = Period 1

26.04.2016 to 25.05.2016 = Period 2

26.05.2016 to 25.06.2016 = Period 3

26.06.2016 to 25.07.2016 = Period 4

26.07.2016 to 25.08.2016 = Period 5

26.08.2016 to 25.09.2016 = Period 6

26.09.2016 to 25.10.2016 = Period 7

26.10.2016 to 25.11.2016 = Period 8

26.11.2016 to 25.12.2016 = Period 9

26.12.2016 to 25.01.2017 = Period 10

26.05.2016 to 25.02.2017 = Period 11

26.05.2016 to 25.03.2017 = Period 12

Issue:

If actuals were posted on 10.05.16, it moves it to the portal to Period 5 for 2016  instead of Period 2 for 2017.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Annelize

Hi Aneelize,

Please make sure that following global switch is enabled in PPM Customizing (SAP Portfolio and Project Management > Portfolio Management > Global Customizing > Global Settings > Override Default Global Settings)

--> Area 0010 and sub-area 0007 - Fiscal year variant is set to the FY in ECC. For your case, I presume that is V3.

Hope this helps.

Best regards

Aditya

Hi Aditya,

See screen below? I have no idea what may cause this since the config is in order?

Hi Annelize,

You need to correct the entry for 0010 Second highlighted line in your screenshot to your FY Variant which is V3..then run the program /RPM/FISCAL_VARIANT_COPY to check the details..

Hi Sammar,

Let me make sure I understand ..

Entry for 0010 0007 is currently mapped to V3. Must I also correct entry 0010 0006 to V3?

Hi,

In my case entry 0010 for 0007 is V3? I just gave the wrong screenshot.

Hi Annelize,

This seems to be the appropriate setting. Would you please check and share the Fin. Plan. dashboard screenshot?

What you might see in the Fin. Plan. dashboard is that April 2016 will be shown as April 2017, and likewise Dec 2016 will be Dec 2017. Also Jan to Mar 2017 will be as is.

Best regards,

Aditya

Hi Aditya,

Please excuse me, I have been asked to assist with PPM and is not a PPM consultant at all. Where do I get the Fin. Plan. dashboard settings?

Hello Annelize

Please check the following:

In se16n run table /rpm/portfolio_d

For your applicable portfolio, can you check whether there is an entry for fiscal year variant (FY_VARIANT) and that this corresponds to the fiscal year variant that you have defaulted?

If this setting is blank you can run via se38 the following utility : RPM_FISCAL_UTILITY

Also - and by the way, you can set the FYV for the applicable Portfolio Type under SPRO->Portfolio Management->Global Customising->Portfolio Dependant Settings->Define Portfolio Types

Hope this helps

Hi Annelize,

If you browse through PPM NWBC or Portal, open an existing Portfolio item and then go to "Financial Planning" link, you would be able to see the difference.

Please find below the screenshot where I have setup Fiscal year variant as V6 (July-June) and the impact of it in Financial planning dashboard.

Also as suggested by Chatsworth, please make the changes in "SPRO->Portfolio Management->Global Customising->Portfolio Dependant Settings->Define Portfolio Types" by setting FYV as V3 for your portfolio.

Let us know if you face any issue.

Best regards

Aditya

Hi,

I've checked the config under SPRO->Portfolio Management->Global Customising->Portfolio Dependant Settings->Define Portfolio Types. All is 100% here as well.

Hi All,

I logged an OSS a few days ago as well, and the recommendation came through last night to run /RPM/FICO_PLANNING_INT but only for Planning. It worked and all our financials are mapped correct now.

Thank you so much for all your support and help!!

Hi again

Last few questions:

1. Have you always had this FYV or did you recently change it?

2. Did you recently upgrade from say 4.5 ?

3. Do you have a customised financial planning layout ? If so...do you see the same result in there than what you see in the standard financial planning screen from within the Item - e.g. you see a value in period 5 in the custom financial layout and you also see this in period 5 in the standard financial layout

4. Following up from the point above....if you take a look at the entries in table /rpm/fin_plan for the Item - does this correspond to your expectation, or is this the same as your custom financial plan screen (If you have one)

5. Are there any other enhancements you did with regards to roll-up functionality from PS

Thanks
C

1. Have you always had this FYV or did you recently change it?

Yes.

2. Did you recently upgrade from say 4.5 ?

No, we plan to upgrade to PPM 6.1

3. Do you have a customised financial planning layout ? If so...do you see the same result in there than what you see in the standard financial planning screen from within the Item - e.g. you see a value in period 5 in the custom financial layout and you also see this in period 5 in the standard financial layout

We use standard ..

4. Following up from the point above....if you take a look at the entries in table /rpm/fin_plan for the Item - does this correspond to your expectation, or is this the same as your custom financial plan screen (If you have one)

NB: The entries on table /rpm/fin_plan is the same as on NWBC (Front-end). It is my understanding that the financials rolls up to RPM_FIDATA and from there to /rpm/fin_plan. NB, the FY is 100% correct on RPM_FIDATA, but not on /rpm/fin_plan. How can that happen?

5. Are there any other enhancements you did with regards to roll-up functionality from PS

Nothing

HI

Last question....

You only realise the issue now? I.e. has it always been like this or has something changed?

I am not sure what else to offer in terms of this as I do not have a view of your system. Please proceed with a new call to SAP

Best Regards

How is your fiscal year variant configuration maintained in PPM? Is it same as ERP??

Can you share screenshot of the same?

Hi Sammar,

Here is the config screen for the Fiscal Year variant in PPM and the "Override Default Global Settings"

I also run /RPM/FISCAL_VARIANT_COPY and ?RPM?MIGRATION_CA:_TO_FISCAL and get the message that the fiscal year is correct?

Hope to hear from you soon?
