Alternate UOM is permitted in decimals. Wrong Consumption.

Hello Experts,

This issue is actually coming in PP area but it is related to Alternate UOM and Base UOM mentioned in material master.

The component quantity in process order is not coming as per maintained in BOM.( Material Quantity calculation is there but issue is not related to it).

We observed that the component which has discrepancy in Process order quantity has alternate UOM and Base UOM relationship as below.

It is clearly showing 68.038 KG=100 ST. KG is Alternate UOM and ST is Base UOM.

Surprising SAP never allows decimal places to be maintained in Alternate UOM but here it looks that is maintained.

Reproducing the Process Order and its BOM, below are the screen shots.

Process Order.

Process Order component overview where there is Phantom item being highlighted.

FG 9006200, Order qty=180 ST

phantom Item 904628 = 3.240,000 KG

Component Item, 3600103 = 680,390 KG which ideally should be 158,112 KG after phantom BOM explosion in below screen shot

Can you please explain this behavior why this is happening and how to correct it?

Appreciate your reply

Best regards
