How to tackle disassemble of products into spares??

Former Member

Dear Team,

We have one scenario where i am disassembling one entire tool "ABC Kit" which is made of 35 spare parts (parts as A, B, C, D, E etc...)

How do i process ahead in this case?

We have Production Module, can we use this to do so?

What will be Input Products?? Output Product??

All 35 spares will go as By Products in Production Model?

Thanks

Vishal Kambare

Hi Vishal,

I see two ways of achieving this.

1. As you described you can use the production module. You can either set up the parts as by-products in the production model or you manually add those in the production order:

In case you always have the same disassembly-process then the production model would be the better approch. You first need to create a BOM that contains one spare part as the output component and the part to be disassembled as input component.

The other alternative is just to post inventory adjustments by reducing inventory of the part to be disassembled and by increasing the inventory for the spare parts.

Stefan

Hi @stefan.resag

I'm processing with Manufacturing Model as suggested

" You first need to create a BOM that contains one spare part as the output component and the part to be disassembled as input component."

Getting below error Output product ABC in BoM variant causes recursion.

As I refer help docs, found this scenario is not supported by SAP

Output product ABC in BoM variant causes recursion - 3033403 - Output Product ABC in BoM Variant Causes Recursion

Can you suggest way forward?

Hi Vishal,

did you use the output product also as input product? Then you run into a recursion.

Best regards,

Stefan
