as the support for SP3 is gone we have to upgrade to SP4. As far as we can see SP4 is supported for HANA. We already have done an upgrade in a testenvironment by upgrading SLES itself as it is recommended by suse using yast wagon (using xrdp in the HANA machine, starting wagon, pressing gogogogo - it will upgrade repositories, packages etc. itself). Afterwards we upgraded HANA to 9.2 PL06. As far as we can see it worked well - DB still present and openable. Still there are some questions left which i was not abled to find an answer to.

1. Although SP4 itself is supported - is upgrading supported too or do i have to completely install a new system and backup/restore the DB in the new system. (There are some threads about new machines provided by Amazon where customers had to backup restore there DB's in the new machines but no thread about upgrading by someone self). Answers like "it MIGHT be good to" or "i ADVISE you" would be not that helpful :) - i need a clear statement if i would loose support or something if i just upgrade.

2. If it is supported is there a "Best Practise" or something i should keep in mind if doing so or am i good to go if i stick to the Upgrade Guide from Suse and afterwards Upgrade Guide from SAP.

Thanks a lot

Best Regards

Actually, if you get the media from orginally, the upgrade method in the video doesn't work.
