Hi Expert,
I have created Raw material with VM( Automatic reorder point) in MRP view 1 and also set Reorder point 200 Kg and safety stock as 150 Kg but after issuing the goods ,It is not taking care of safety stock and also How to obtain automatic reorder point in MRP? The stock is still showing below the safety stock and below the reorder point. Please guide me how to run it practically? What is the use of reorder point if it wont work automatically?
Best Regards
Sumit Sinha
Hello Sumit,
MRP Group 0031 assigned to this material that check if any share of the safety stock used to cover requirements.
An order proposal will be only created if the the stock level has fallen below the safety stock available for planning.

Hi Brahmankar,
Thanks, As per my understanding we create reorder point to avoid any excess lead time. Suppose I created a production order which consume stock level of ROH material below its reorder point and also below its define minimum safety stock,Then is there any way to run MRP automatically when it reaches below its reorder point? If not then how will we avoid lead time to bring the material for the next production order creation? Hope you understand my points.
Also i observe during MRP run of FG product in MD02, Purchase requisition will not be created for ROH material which is set as reorder point in MRP1 View, So during production order creation time only we will get to know that we are not having sufficient stock.
Hope you understand my point now.

Hello,
Then is there any way to run MRP automatically when it reaches below its reorder point? If not then how will we avoid lead time to bring the material for the next production order creation?
There is no way to trigger MRP automatically in standard SAP. You set the workflow MDDISPONENT MRP Controller Workflow to inform MRP controller to run MRP.
Or you can schedule the batch job for MRP in background through MDBT.

Hi Brahmankar ,
you told that
MRP Group 0031 assigned to this material that check if any share of the safety stock used to cover requirements.
But now i changed it and it is still going below minimum safety stock level,If it is happened like this then What is the use to keep minimum stock level in MRP2 view? Please look below screenshot

Hi Dimas,
Thanks for at least your reply , But I am not able to understand it.
What i need to maintain here? Actually my point is If i set reorder point then automatically MRP should run when my stock level come under 200 ,Also if i set my minimum safety stock as 100 then how good issue is happening during production order released?

Hello
For MRP type VM, you have to do the following
1. enter the data of the past consumption in the forecasting view in material master
2. also maintain the service level in the material master.
This will help to determine the Reorder and Safety stock.
If you don't want to use automatic determination of the reorder point and safety stock than go for MRP type VB.
Try to run MD01 and than see the results in MD04 for the material.
Also have a look on the following documents
Reorder Point Planning - MRP Procedures - SAP Library
MRP run will not consider the dependent requirement for the reorder level raw material.
Hope this help

Also while running the MRP for FG product in MD02 ,There is no purchase requisition created for ROH material. So why it is required to run MRP for ROH material separately each time?
