SCHEDULING AGREEMENT AND SCHEDULING LINE Delivery Date determination logic by MRP

Dear all,

I'm using Scheduling Agreement + relevant Schedule Line creation (done automatically by MRP run) where I have the following settings for all the involved materials:

1) in View MRP2 of Material Master mngmt, the "Planned Delivery Time" & the "GR Processing Time" are both set to "0" days

2) When MRP runs, it allocates the computed need, to the FIRST day of the week and so, ever on MONDAY

3) Source List & Quota arrangement for the materials involved are maintained

What I see, which is quite strange is that:

a) in ALL cases, for all the materials planned, the MRP correctly ALLOCATE them needs (the "VSFB Independent Requirements) to the weekly day MONDAY but..

b)  in some cases (for some materials), the Delivery Date automatically assigned by MRP IS NOT a MONDAY (as often done) but another week day (more often FRIDAY).

Any idea about the way MRP does to compute that date? Which is the behavior applied by the MRP tool in this case?

many thanks in advance for any suggestion about,

best regards,

Loris

Hi Loris,

Please check the Lot size procedure you have set up in this materials in MRP views of material master data. It looks like using a lot size procedure with planning calendars  - this is locally set for each material and defines how SLines are agregated.

Dear Tomasz,

thanks a lot for your prompt suggestion. I had a check at the relevant material master data and I attach 4 SLIDES with detailed screenshots which explains what I found.

Just to resume to you, anyway, please note that I have compare 2 materials, the one were I note the "strange" effects to have the delivery schedules placed on Friday, and another one were they are placed on Monday as expected. Please to note, also that, for what about the Lot size procedure, it is the same for both materials, even because we use an MRP profile which massively set this parameter for all the materials belonging to the same type of an MRP.

Anyway, please look at my attached, should you would like to ...

many thanks in advance & best regards,

Loris

Hi Loris,

You marked your answer to yourself as correct, does it mean you found the root cause?

also: intersting infor about WB lot size can be fouond here: Lot Size "WB - Weekly Lot Size" | SCN

check the cusotmizing mentioned there - it should show how your system setup is reacting and why.

Hello Tomasz,

no, I flagged it as "correct" but it was a mistake. I DIDN'T found the root cause, yet.

Loris
