hi there,
just few month ago we have implemented the SAP containing the following modules (HCM, FICO, SD, MM) for our company. we are facing an issue on 'payroll run date range', it was scheduled to run payroll between from 21 - 20 each month pay by our SAP consultant, but now our management is requesting to amend the same, they want us to run using the range from 1 -30 each month, appreciate your advise for an action to meet the goals. As per our SAP consultant we can not do this after the go-live, this is the setup they have done it in the configuration.
looking forward quick response from expert.
Regards
Could you explain what this date range actually means? Do you mean payroll period?

Hi Rizwan,
Changing the payroll period AFTER go-live is a risky proposition and I would NOT advise you to do the same. HOWEVER, there is a way to go about this. Please try this in a test system first.
1. First of all, create a new Payroll Area, let's call it, AB.
2. Assign AB to the employees w.e.f. FIRST DAY of the month. Suppose, you've run your payroll till 20.7.2016. Then you should assign Payroll Area AB to your employees from 1.8.2016.
3. You should also create new records in IT0000, IT0001 and other Payroll relevant infotypes from 1.8.2016, just to be on the safe side.
4. Next, there's the problem of the payment that the employees have accrued from 21.7.2016 to 31.7.2016. This payment will unfortunately need to be manually calculated and then you will have to enter this payment in IT0015 for all the employees in the month of August 2016.
Please note that I'm assuming here that you've correctly configured the new Payroll Area, AB, in the views V_T549* in your system. Please DON'T, under any circumstance, try this workaround in a Production system before testing it properly in a TEST system.
Your SAP consultant is actually right in suggesting that you don't mess with the Payroll Periods after Go-Live.
Best Regards,
Aman
As mentioned by , the solution implies creating a new Payroll Accounting Area according to your client's needs (in your Test or Development environments), but you may also want to consider creating new Personnel Areas or Personnel Sub-Areas.
Test it first by hiring new employees into it, and then by transfering an employee from the other PAA into this new PAA.
