Transporting Remodeling cubes

Hi All

I have added 0fiscper3 to 5 cubes and adjusted to the multi provider, now i am transporting to quality so could you some one help me to take any precautions before moving to quality.

TR1 - I have captured all 5 remodeling rules (for 5 cubes) in one transport request.

TR 2- I have captured all 5 Transformations in one transport request.

TR 3- I have captured Multi provider  in one one transport request.

some of the requests in cubes are compressed and some are not so is it  create any impact while  TR moving?

And is it create any impact if we move all 5 remodeling rules through one TR?

Appreciate if any suggestions.

Hi Bhaskar,

please check your transport requests, whether those have any inconsistency check or not.

please use program - RSO_TLOGO_CHECK_REQUEST.

If you won't fine any inconsistencies thru above report then its fine to transport your transports to target system.

You did remodeling to cubes. what about data loading for added info objects?

Whether business want historic data or not?

if historic data not required then its fine to go ahead.

if you need historic data then data deletion from cubes and reload is mandate.

when I applied remodeling in development (selected option attribute of characteristic , 0fiscper3 is new characteristic and it filled with data from 0fiscper (0fiscper3 is attribute of 0fiscper)) it filled data for historic records also. but when i moved transports to Quality TR imported successfully but 0fiscper3 not updated for old records i mean historic data.

PLEASE HELP ME WHATS WRONG WITH IT?

Actions taken

new field added 0FISCPER3  through remodeling  and it filled data with 0fiscper3 attribute of 0fiscper.

once executed new field added  to the cube and I maintained rule type as "Initial" at Transformation level. PFA.

Order maintained while transporting -

  1. first transported remodeling rule

  2. second cube transported

  3. Transmissions transported

all transports imported successfully. but data not updated to 0fiscper3 for historic data.

I believe when using remodeling historic data  also be updated for newly added field (reload is not required). that is the same happening  in development.

Please let me know if i missed anything or am i missed any action that should be done in quality?

Hi,

after moving transports to Quality system.

Have you loaded data to respective targets(master data and transaction data)?

Thru transport we move structural changes only not the data.

So again load the data at quality/Run Modeling rules at quality system  and check it.

later request business for UAT.

But when I executed remodeling rule in development system new field 0fiscper3 updated for historic records also. I have not reloaded the data.

Do I need to run remodeling rule in quality system  once its successfully imported to Q system ?

If it is mandatory could you please let me know the procedure that how to execute it?

After creating a rule at dev system, how you filed data for historic?

you might be ran modeling rule once and it may filled data as per the logic.

in the same you can run at Qua as well.

one thing i want know, how your filling fiscper3 at cube level?

thru master data reading at rule level or any direct mapping?

At  rule level I have used option "attribute of characterstick". So fiscper3 is filled with attribute of characterstick 0fiscper. I mean 0fiscper3 is attribute of 0fiscper3. After this when I ran the rule it filled with data for historic records.

And at transformation level I have made rule type is initial for newly added field 0fiscper3.

Please let me know if my approach is correct or not.

Still confusion about your actions.

Are you talking about two transformations or one transformations.

At info cube  transformations, for info object 0fiscper3 how you mapped?

have you kept rule detail as initial? is that suffice your business requirement?

if yes then nothing is required to load any data.

I mean.. I used "attribute of characterstick " at remodeling level.  We have this option at remodeling page and it will ask how new field can be filled with data.

I am using only one transformation and I have kept initial as rule type for new field .

After moving your changes to Qua system,

Have you scheduled/run your remodeling rule to fill your info object.

scheduler option you will find at remodeling area.

lets run your remodeling rule at qua system and check it.

I have not run yet, may be this is the one i  missed out. Is it allowed to run same remodeling rule in quality system?

This is one time activity or have to schedule it periodically because data will load to targets everyday in production.

while scheduling remodeling rule in quality i have got error 0fiscper3 already exist in infoprovider.

i have transported cubes along with remodeling rule.

Even development also i have tried to schedule it periodically but got same error. in this situation how we can execute it.

i believe 0fiscper3 filled data through remodeling rule and it need to execute it in regular intervals to update new data to this field.
