SPRO Error when applying the HANA MDX parameter on a BPC Model

BPC Experts,

Unique scenario occurring to me in our Non-Prod landscape.

HANA DB 112.02

CPMB 007

HANA 005

Trying to re-enable the HANA MDX parameter in one of my BPC models.  It fails with a message UJA_DATA_CHECK E 061- Failed to check member formula.  Directly below is another line referencing a circle reference in a dimension.

That dimension does not have Member formulas enabled.

My other models that do not utilize this dimension are able to apply the parameter with no issue. Also this model has had this setting on previously.

So far I have tried the following:

1)  UJA_DATA_CHECKER

2)  BPC HANA MIGRATE FROM 10

3) UJXO_CLEAN_CACHE

4) UJHANA_REFRESH_VIR_CUBES

5) RSRCACHE - Clear DB cache

6) Dimension Hierarchy appears fine.

Any suggestions?

Screenshot of other dimension member formulas? May be this dimension is referenced in some dimension member formula in other dimension?

Vadim.

I had a similar thought and I removed it. The model still produces this odd message.

Since I put it back.  Please see below.

Thanks,

The formula looks correct!

CPMB 007 - please provide all details about BW and BPC version and SP

P.S. By the way in the formula text you can remove '[ACCOUNT]." - only for account type dimension.

Ups, very old SP's, please upgrade!

Waiting in line for that piece.  Until then trying to implement notes from later releases as they apply.

"our Non-Prod landscape." - then upgrade Both BW and BPC!

Hello,

The error you are getting means something is wrong with the runtime MDX query.  Please clarify what you mean by BPC 007 and HANA 005, are you on BPC 10.1 SP07?

Furthermore, please find details of the error.  We can usually find this type of error in SLG1.  This could be a known issue which means that by searching for the error in SAP notes you may be able to find a fix.

Leila,

We are on BPC 10.0 NW with d801 CMPB SP 7 and 801 HANA SP 5.  We are in the process of upgrading to catch up SP's.  In the meanwhile looking for effective SAP notes in later releases.

SLG1 does not provide an error here when trying apply the HANA MDX parameter to this model.  It does provide the MDX syntax that it utilizes to compile.  I ran these through UJHANAMDX.  Nothing popped,

Thanks,

Vineet

Hi Vineet,

Have a look at the errors in SM21.  I usually find errors regarding MDX in SM21 and SLG1.  SLG1 is mostly when runtime MDX query errors during a report refresh.  You can try SM21, but my recommendation is to wait until you complete the upgrade. Your HANA revision is pretty recent, but your HANABPC, as Vadim pointed out, is old.

Leila,

Thanks.  This should not need to wait.  This was working right after the upgrade for some time and then faltered.

Also this same exact setup works in our lower environments still.  So I am not convinced that we would have to wait to enjoy the benefits.  TDH has been an ongoing issue and somehow I think its the culprit here.  TDH Dim: Entity.

Thanks,

Vineet

Sorry, but without SP upgrade you can spend a lot of time and still achieve nothing...
