Importing From an EXCEL Worksheet

We are looking to migrate models from a different legacy tool into SAP PowerDesigner via EXCEL Worksheets.  I have found some information associated with this topic, but nothing "Solid".  Is there a document that discusses the Import EXCEL worksheet?  One issue I am seeing is that the Comment column for an "Entity" worksheet does't get uploaded, the Entity name does, but not the "Comment" EXCEL worksheet tab.

Thanks in advance, /mike

If you don't mind me asking, which tool are you migrating from? You might be better off using that tool's built-in exports, or a Reischmann Toolbus bridge (Reischmann Informatik GmbH - TOOLBUS Interfaces)

George, NP... We are migrating various EA Sparx model files. I have worked through the XMI file import process and have found the Excel workbook approach the most effective for our situation and the way in which we use the tool. That said, we're certainly open to suggestions, I'll look into the tool(s) you have suggestion, thank you.  FYI, the best I can determine, the "Comment" not being populated was some form of user error, this seems to be fine. I haven't had any problems importing Comments from Excel, Mike.  Can you please confirm the names of your sheets, and the columns on the sheet? A column called 'Comment' on a sheet called 'Entity' should be imported into a CDM or LDM without any problem.

George, OK let me go back and check what I'm doing in more detail to ensure it's not user error. FYI, I have a worksheet named "Entity", containing columns "Name" & "Comment", second worksheet named "Entity.Entity Attribute", containing columns "Entity", "Name", "Comment", & "Data Type", third worksheet named "Relationship", containing columns "detail_table", "detail_table_cardinality", "lookup_table" & "lookup_table_cardinality" that need to be mapped manually even when I check the Automap Columns to Properties checkbox, any thought why "Entity 1", "Entity 2" columns don't automap?

As I said, I will double-check my process based on you experience.  Thanks for the quick response.
