Crystal Report in SAP pointing to different databases

Former Member

Hi All.

A customer wrote a report that needs to sit in SAP Business One, but needs to point to sp procedures created in different database.

He gets a "Failed to retrieve data from Database" Error.

Please advise if its possible to do such a report as they need and if so, how will this be done.

Thank you.

Regards,

Jerusha

Hi Jerusha,

Does SAP B1 have access to that database?

Hi Jerusha,

Without connecting to stored procedure how the report will render data ?

What is the database he used to write SP ?  Check Product Matrix Report / supported platforms document to verify the database support.

If it is supported, then try to create a ODBC 32 bit and try to access the database and procedure.

Now go in Crystal Reports, -- Database Menu--Set Datasource location and change the datasource to newly created database.

Thanks,

Hi Sastry.

Thank you for your response.

There is a datasource connection. essentially what the customer wants is to have data pulling from the SBO database and another database..not related to SBO.

I advised them on trying to use sub reports.
