where do we kept the Excel sheet If universe is created on Excel.

Hi All,

Kindly let me know the solution for below queries.

1.If the universe is created based on excel sheet where do the sheet will be kept?

2.If we create webi on excel directly where we keep that now .

    Hi Ramanaidu,

    If you are creating a universe on Excel, you should keep it on some directory/folder making sure that Excel sheet is readable by the user account with which your SIA (Server Intelligence Agent) is running. In this way, you will be able to refresh report from BI Launchpad.

    For webi on excel directly, you can use either managed or unmanaged way.

    In both the cases the spreadsheet has to be uploaded into the BO repository it depends what locations you want to save them to. But has to be anywhere other than your Local Fav folders.

    See the Universe connection. You will see it should be using an ODBC DSN. You can explore the DSN to get the location of the Excel File. (if you are searching the excel sheet for the already created universe)
