Warehouse task from Door to Staging area

Former Member

Hi Friends,

For my inbound scenario, I am facing couple of issues.

a)

In the inbound delivery document the Staging Bay is determined correctly SA01 /0001/SA01-01-01.

WPT# X010 is used for putaway, where the source location Door [DO01/001/DO01-01-01] is defined. But when I am trying to create warehouse task to move the incoming goods from Door to Staging area system is giving wrong destination. It is showing the final physical bin instead of Staging area.

b) I have packed the Inb del in ERP and sent it across to EWM. But at the time to WT creation system is not showing the HU WT. in the HU tab.

Correct me if I am missing any config or process steps.

Regards,

Yogi

Hello Yogi,

For this issue you have to define 2 WPT .

First WPT - Door to Staging Area.

Second WPT - Staging Area to Final Bin.

b) I have packed the Inb del in ERP and sent it across to EWM. But at the time to WT creation system is not showing the HU WT. in the HU tab.

How is your packing is done ? Manual or Automatic  ?

If it is not shown in HU Tab i believe packaging is not yet done ?

Click on Inbound Delivery  in Menu Option.

Follow on Function > Pack

Here you can do manual packing.

Hi Olet,

Thanks for your reply.

a) Could you please let me know how the system will pick the second WPT configuration ? or you are pointing to POSC solution. What is the best practice to achieve this case ?

For part b)

Packing was done manually in ERP Delivery , then sent to EWM. I could see the HU number in HU tab in ID document Item level in EWM. But when I try to create the WT via Inbound Del> Follow on functions > WT. The HU tab is coming empty.

Hello Yogi,

a)You can use POSC/LOSC for first requirement.

b)You did packing in ERP delivery but it is not appearing in HU tab in EWM .

It means packing is not done in EWM for that you have to create pack spec in EWM.

Please not the HU number ranges shall be same both in ECC and ERP

Internal number ranges in ERP  =  External number ranges in EWM.

Hi,

what you want to do requires process oriented storage control. And the warehouse process type you find for the inbound delivery must refer to this process.

The first step in the process then must be an "unloading" step.

Hi Olet,

For part (b) I have created created pack spec and enabled automatic packing in Inbound delivery.

But again facing the same issue that instead of HU WT I am getting normal WT. Please find the below screenshots and let me know if I am missing something.

Hello Yogi,

Below is the example how POSC works :

Product is received from Door - GR-Zone - Final Bin Loc.

So in this case first step is to unload the product at door creating unloading WT.

Please note EWM will create HU WT for unloading and staging in GR-Zone.

Whereas during put away to final bin location system created Product WT .

In POSC once you confirm unloading task system  creates other WT automatically.

Now confirm the WT and you will see next WT from Door to GR-Zone with HU WT.

Hi Olet,

Thanks for your reply. I understood the POSC case but currently trying direct putaway. In this case also during putaway to final bin system creates Product WT ?

Hello Yogi,

If that is your requirement go to the storage type setting .

Make HU Requirement = X  for the required storage type.

Hi Olet,

I have marked 'X' in the HU requirement field for a new storage type and executed again. But still system is creating product WT.

Hi Yogi,

As per attached screen shot,Storage Process is not determined  thatswhy Prod WH task getting generated, I guess you are using POSC.

Pls check the HU->Detail 1 Tab for Storage Process.

Also check pack spec.

Check docs

Thanks,

Hi Yogi,

If you are not using POSC, check settings of

Putaway Storage Control in Storage type.

Sorry Yogi,

Check Select HU Without Storage Process in WPT  for direct Putaway of HU.

Hope It helps you to solve your issue.

Hello Yogi,

Check the below two settings in Storage Type in Putaway Control Tab

1.HU Type Check is checked .

2.Ptwy Stor.Ctrl = Blank

Additionally  check the point suggested by Ajit, but I think it will be in place.

Olet
