Order operation duration restrictions setting automatically while saving

Hi,

I'm facing an issue while creating the PM order that the restriction for Operation start and end dates are setting automatically, while creating and saving the order into system.

Is there any setting in Standard , where we can stop to set these restrictions ??

Please revert.

Thanks

Dennis,

I agree with Terence, it looks like a development issue (or a bug).

Can you check the following:

  1. Go to IW31 and create an order (do not save)
  2. Go to the operation restriction dates and see if they are set.
  3. If not set, then save the order
  4. Return into the order via IW33 and check the restriction dates
  5. If not set, then go into the order via IW32 and check the dates.
  6. If not set, save the order, and return into the order again

This should help identify at what point the dates are set..

Thanks Pete and Terence,

   Here are the replies

1. order is creating manually via IW31, header screen as below

2. Happening for all users

3. Its happening when entering the operation durations and if pressing scheduling icon before save or directly upon save.

4. No recent system update

5. I didn't implement any User exit.

I'm wondering if there's any std config settings where we can control these restrictions "Must start on" and "Must End on" ?

Thanks

Hi Dennis,

I dont think we have any configuration related to Date restriction.

You can ask your ABAP team to debug during scheduling, which give you the reason behind this, whether there is any custom code implemented to set the date restriction during scheduling.

May be, do this to confirm then impact, Create the order and uncheck the Automatic scheduling and save the order whether the dates are getting captured.

Dennis,

Some questions:

  • Does this happen for all users, or just a few
  • When did this start happening
  • Have there been any system updates recently
  • Have you implemented any user-exits/enhancement recently

Hi Dennis,

How are you creating the order, directly using IW31 or through plan or any other way ?

Kindly share the screenshot of the Order header data column

Additionally, Check whether the Order is having Network / Activity field is filled in the additional data tab, if yes, then the dates are from the Network activity.

Hi Maria,

Are you talking about superior network field in additional data tab.

Looking at the screen shot what Dennis shared, through IW31 only order is created.

Hi PS R,

We cannot say how it is created, since the order number is already exist.

Technical Object is sufficient to pull the WBS / network into order, so it can be due to User Exit (as Pete advised), which can get the data and put it in constrains.

Lets wait for Dennis to respond to understand with the answers.
