Lumira on ECC Infoset - Help required

Hi,

I am using SAP Lumira 1.31 to connect to ECC Infoset using ECC 6.0 JCO driver. I have around 20 fields selected for Output in ECC Infoset. In ECC on execution it shows only the selected output fields. But when I am acquiring the data in Lumira using the same Infoset, I am getting 1000+ dimensions and 700+ Measures and not just the fields selected for output in ECC infoset.

I had to modify the SQL in acquisition step to include only the fields required for analysis to get rid of unwanted fields.

Please help me with following -

1. Why would Lumira return all fields from all the tables used in ECC infoset instead of returning just the ones selected for output in ECC infoset?

2. When the storyboard created on ECC in Lumira is published to Lumira Server for BI Platform, how data refresh can be scheduled on BI Platform? Would it store the ECC connection information on Lumira Server for BI Platform when it gets published?

3. Any way of applying Row level security for such storyboard when accessed through Lumira Server for BI Platform.

Please help.

Thanks,

Abhijit

Hi Abhijit,

You would want to refer to the following blog,

1) In Lumira, the dimensions and measures are controlled in the front end tool and the data is controlled by the backend. That is the reason you needed to modify the query in the Lumira SQL editor to only acquire the required dimensions and measures.

2) You can right click the Lumira document and find the schedule option in the BI platform. And you can refer to

3) Row level security is something which is controlled in the backend system and this gets reflected in the Lumira Server for BI platform.

Thank you,

Hi Varun,

Thanks for your response.

With regards to Row level security, I understand that the row level security is implemented in back end system which flows into BO platform through SSO configuration.

But in my scenario, the back end is ECC system from where I am acquiring data through ECC Infosets (SQ02 tcode). This is where I am confused if row level security can be implemented on ECC Infosets in ECC that can flow to BO Platform through SSO configuration with ECC. I would like to know if -

1. Row level security can be implemented on ECC Infosets in ECC

2. SSO can be configured between BO and ECC so that Row level security can work.

Abhijit

Hi Abhijit,

You would need to check in the specific forums regarding the row level security. For example, .

Regarding the SSO, please refer to ECC 6.0 and BO Single Sign on | SCN and .

Dear Varun,

I am looking for information on Row Level Security with SSO to ECC from BO Platform for Lumira implementation. Based on the SSO link you shared, it is clear that SSO can be implemented between ECC and BO but Row level security is still not answered.

Looking to get more information on the same.

Thanks,

Abhijit

I suppose the row level security should work. From your description, I am not totally sure if you tried this(?).

If you have and it does not work, consider creating a phone incident - making sure you are testing with Lumira 1.31, patch 1. (e.g.; 1.31.1).

Ludek,

Thanks for your response.

You are right that I have not tried this out yet. We need to suggest approach to one of our customer before they proceed with their implementation. That is where I was looking for clarification if row level security can work for Lumira on ECC the way it works for other data sources e.g. BW or HANA.

Abhijit
