Introduce Storage Section in live WH

Hi All,

Requirement is to introduce new 'Storage Sections' in a live warehouse which is functioning for years with just one default Storage Section. (Assume this is required only for one Storage Type)

We have lot of items stored and issued from that Storage Type currently every day.

Requirements :

1. 2 New SC to be additionally created

2. Those SC to be used in Search strategy

3. Automatic binning/picking to happen(means Bins are assigned to SC)

Queries are:

1. How to approach this ?

2. Sequence in which we have to do?

3. Other things to consider, if any.

    Hi,

    Creating new ST sections is not problem you can do it in live WH,

    Create new ST sections, have ST section search strategy, maintain proper data in material master and then you will have to move material from single ST (existing one) to newly created one

    Create your new storage sections, define the storage section search strategy, activate storage section search and mass update the existing BINs in the existing storage type with LS11 (to reflect new storage sections).
