Multiple contact names in the leads

Former Member

Hi,

In the leads scenario, there are multiple contact names from the same company (prospect) that will be collected and need to be enter to the C4C lead. However, i dont see that there is a way here to enter multiple contacts. Also, what happened if this lead is converted into account and contacts?

Thanks.

cheers,

julius

Hi,

please use Contacts tab in Lead. If you cannot see it - add it in adapt mode.

I guess it might be used only when you work with existing account on lead and its contact persons. When I work with text account (new) this tab is not available. so you can have only one (text) contact person.

Hi Radek,

Thanks for the reply.

This is exactly my problem. The user doesn't want to create an account (prospect) yet and want to enter multiple contacts. What is the best practise here?

I see those options:

- create multiple leads, for each contact - then conversion to account and contact will be utilized

- use notes or custom fields on lead to put those contacts names - but then conversion will use only 1

Hello Julius ,

1.If you creating Lead using Existing Account , then in the Lead you have 'Contact' facet where you can maintain Multiple Contacts(with one as 'Main/Primary' Contact) .

=>But in this case there is No option to Convert to Contact & Account .

2.Secondly ,if you create Lead without using Existing Account ,then there is NO-Contact facet but only single Contact which you can maintain within Header of the Lead .

=>However in this case there is an option to Convert to Contact & Account .

Hi,

I'm still not getting a satisfactory answer, which i see as quite a common requirement.

1) Lead should allow for multiple contact persons to be stored (1 main, multiple non-main). Creating multiple leads to cater for this will make the leads very messy when converting to opportunity or account.

2) During conversion to Account or Opportunity, multiple contact persons should be copied over from lead to Account.

Hello Julius ,

As stated in my previous note .

****Case 1 :If Lead is created using Existing Account ,I can see Contact Facet available in the created Lead.Where can also add Multiple Contact .

=>For this Case the Action 'Convert To Opportunity' is allow (Not as 'Convert to 'Contact & Account').

Please refer my screenshot .

****Case 2 :If lead is created WITHOUT Existing Account ,there is NO -Contact Facet and hence there is no option to add multiple Contacts.

=>For this case BOTH action 'Convert to Opportunity' AND 'Convert to Account and Contacts' are available .

This are the only 2 ways base on your Use Case ,hope this help .

If still any question ,we would request you to provide screenshot explaining your issue .

Regards,

Ankush.

Hi Ankush,

Thanks for the reply.

My discussion will focus only on the leads without existing accounts.

Case 2:

Doubt 1: If lead has to be converted to Account (or prospect) immediately in order to enter multiple contacts, before further qualifying, then all the leads having "Converted" status will be confusing. How the user get an effective analysis of the lead?

Doubt 2: Too many Accounts (prospect)/Contacts will be created that may not turned into an actual customer. These accounts will have to be set to obsolete or something, which means more works for the user or system, and should be avoided in the first place.
