C4C User License Consumption - Workcenter/Workcenter View assignment

Hi Experts,

Do the Admin related Workcentre/Workcenter View assignment to a Business User ID also count towards C4C User License consumption (Business Configuration, Administrator, Data Integration, Mass Data Maintenance work centers/views) ?

Or is it applicable only for Sales/Service related Work center/Work center views assignment to Business User ID?

Will appreciate your inputs.

Kind Regards

Reddy

Hi Reddy,

Yes, Admin related Workcentre/Workcenter View assignment to a Business User ID also count towards C4C User License consumption

Thank you Suman.

In this case then for example, if an Active Business User ID is assigned 2 Business roles (Admin and Sales Rep) with their corresponding Admin and Sales related Work center/Work center views, this should still be considered as 1 User License consumed and not 2?

SAP will only consider the number of Active Business Users (not locked) who are assigned Admin OR/AND Sales relevant Work centers and Work center views and validate this against the purchased User Licenses?

Please advise if this understanding is correct.

Hello Rohit,

It is always considered per Active User irrespective to what work centers are assigned. Saying that no matter if you add any number of Roles, one Active User will cost C4C User License Consumption.

Hope this clarifies now!

Hi Reddy,

Additionally you can also check Usage Statistics report to check active/inactive users.

Please check below document:

Thank you so much Chandan and Suman for your responses.

How would you define an 'Active User' in this case?

Will this be an Unlocked Business User in Application and User Management Work center (under Business Users hyperlink)? Or will this be the Unique User who has logged into C4C as shown in Usage Statistics?

Apologies for dragging this discussion but would like to understand this correctly.

Example illustration of my scenario:

Number of Purchased User licenses is 100.

Number of Unlocked Business Users in C4C is 500.

Number of Active Users as seen in the Usage Statistics is 40.

But still, in the Service Control Center (User Subscriptions), we see a message displayed for the given month as ‘Active Users exceeds the number of purchased User Licenses'.

So trying to figure out how this User License consumption is calculated by SAP.

Thank you for your time.

Hello Rohit,

Active User = Unlocked User. So that's why 500 users would off course show the message that you see in SCC.

Also to add, if in case you are replicating Employees from OnPrem, the active users on CRM are also created as Active (Unlocked User) in C4C.

Thank you Chandan.

Yes, we have replicated Employees from CRM to C4C and this number runs into a few thousands.

All Active User IDs in CRM are created as Unlocked Business User IDs in C4C. However, there would only be a few set of Users using C4C and will remain Unlocked (depending on number of purchased User licenses we have).

Wondering if there is any automated process/functionality to apply a lock on these large number of Unlocked Business Users in C4C? Or these have to be locked through a manual activity?

Thanks again for your time.

Hello Rohit,

Two options:

1. Manually Lock them

2. Modify in middleware to send UserAccountsInactiveIndicator =true by default into C4C.

I guess SAP should modify this approach and keep it with the Customers to activate required users. We too faced this issue where we had thousands of Active users which were later manually Locked!!

Also to share in few cases, the parent element for UserAccountsInactiveIndicator itself didn't show up in payload. Even in such case, Active Users are created. Make sure this value UserAccountsInactiveIndicator =true is always sent in payload to avoid Active User creation.

Hope this helps many!!

Chandan
