Is payroll Should be created separetly for Active, Inactive, Contract employees

Hi Experts,

This is prakash im new to SAP HR/HCM, I had some doubts please clarify me...

1. If we want run payroll for Active, Contract or other category employees..? we should create separate payroll like wage types , TRAIF & LGMST ..?

or else we just assign the employee group for wages types , models & Pay scale types...??

Please explain me with examples.. it helps me allllllooooooottttttt....
