How to assign cost elements to cost components?

Hi, I have the following problem: When I run ck11n for a FG material I receive message CK334  No cost component is assigned to costing item 00003.

What I have to do so I can resolve this problem?

First you need to know which cost component structure.

Goto OKKN

then goto OKTZ

Please check and tell me what type of costing  item you assign in 00003?? , normally cost component structure is use for your cost break up purpose ex:- Material cost breakup individual, activity cost break up and individual over head cost thous items it will give you detail break up in CK11N run,  especially it is for  material cost update ion in material master purpose.

Hi..

If costing item 00003 with problem is material, you check whether costing item 00003 have the correct valuation class in the accounting view of material master.

If yes, you should assign the cost element for material expense to cost component using t-code OKTZ.

Select your Cost component.
