Hi there,
I have a working copy of Design Studio 1.6 SP1 installed on my Windows 10 64 bit PC.
When I try to install SP2 (DS_CLIENT02_0-70001266.exe), the setup window just closes and nothing happens.
It's the same when I try to uninstall my SP1 from "Windows Programs & Features". The window opens for a very short time, then closes again and that's it.
Are there log files related to the installation that can point me in the right direction? I did not find installation/setup specific entires in C:\Users\<user>\Analysis-workspace\.metadata\.log
On a Windows 7 PC the procedure worked fine.
Appreciate any help, thanks!
Best regards,
Moritz
Curious - do you see DS_CLIENT02_0-70001266.exe (and perhaps NwSapSetup.exe) in Task Manager processes, perhaps with 0% CPU and memory usage stuck? We've noticed this a lot recently - due to how we lock down our client PCs. So far the only thing i have found that is working consistently is to:
1. Log in to PC with an account that has Administrator rights
2. Right-click on installer and choose Run as Administrator
Any other combination on non-admin user account and "Run as..." yields inconsistent results...

Dear Byrne,
our installation routine of Design Studio (via software distribution) wanted to uninstall the old Design Studio version before installing the new version. This uninstall call to "NwSapSetup.exe" didn't work, even with administrator rights on a freshly rebooted machine.
We just installed SP2 "over" the older version and now this is running fine.
Best regards,
Moritz
