Hi Experts,

I want to do impact analysis and we use central repo for collaborative development.

My Question is since I don’t have all the jobs in my repository,Can we attach/register the central repo in management console and do the refresh usage data to populate the alvw_mapping?

Thanks in advance.

Hi SN,

it's not possible to do that.

try having a new generic local repository where you can have all the DEV code in one local repository and perform your requirement.

Thanks,

Ravi kiran.

Thanks Ravi and Samatha for reply.

Can you suggest a quick way to import all the Central repo jobs in the local repository.

As importing from conventional method takes lot of time.

Hi SN,

Goto Central Repo and select all the jobs RC and get latest version with object and dependents,

All jobs will import from CR to LR.

Thanks,

Vijay

Hi,

According to my understanding, you wanted to Use Central Repo as Local Repo and do the impact Analysis in Management Console? Is that what you meant to Do,? If Yes, I  think its not possible. As the Schema/Table structure is different.

If not, Can you explain a little more abt what exactly you wanted to do.?

Hi Samtha,

Thanks for quick response.

As per my understanding we need to do refresh usage data (management Console --.> Impact and lineage --> Settings) first to populate the alvw_mapping and lineage diagrams

But I dont have access to CMC to check if I can attach the central repo and do the analysis.

Ultimately we want to do impact analysis of a column change on the jobs and since All the jobs resides in central repo it would be best to do there.

Its Not possible to do the analysis on Central Repo. You can add all the jobs to a local repo and use to do the impact analysis.
