HANA and Microsoft R Open

Dear all,

it is possible to execute R scripts in HANA using the RLANG procedure and the RServe package.

Is it known to anyone whether this also works with Microsoft R Open and/or Microsoft R Server?

Microsoft R is a R distribution, which was formerly known as Revolution R (prior to the acquisition of Revolution Analytics by Microsoft).

I googled around a lot (and used the SCN Community search), but did not find an answer, so I was hoping any of you could help me out.

Many thanks in advance and best regards,

Felix

Didn't get to try it yet, but what I read is that the R distro is a binary replacement for the original R.

So, by pointing RSERVE to the MS distro binaries, you should be able to run the MS R distro.

Supported and tested, however, is only the integration with the standard distro.

Not sure that this would be a huge reason for me to not use the MS R version with the build-in multi-threading support...

BTW: FINALLY someone comes and brings this up! MS R has been on my 'to look into'-list for a couple of months now, but due to barely any R interest here in the HANA community it got pushed further down the stack...
