BOM Explosion date

Hi PP experts,

Could you please tell me why the BOM Explosion date is not equal to planned start date?

SPRO of BOM Explosion: (We don't use explosion number)

Example as below:

BOM explosion date is 31.08.2016

Planned start date: 09.10.2016

Regards,

Steve

    Hello Steve,

As per your first screen shot (OPPQ Configuration) you have not specified any BOM Explosion and activated the Sales order / WBS BOM is active...

Procedure with sales order BOM/WBS BOM active

If you select this field, the system checks whether special BOMs have been created for materials during the planning run.

      1. Sales order BOMs If a sales order BOM exists then this BOM is exploded for every corresponding sales order.
      2. WBS BOMs
    • If a WBS BOM exists, BOM is exploded for the corresponding WBS.

this might be the case or

What was the in house production time defined for this material in material master..if you have not specified any explosion date then system will calculate the explosion date based on Finish date - In house production time = BOM Explosion date
