Input Parameter Non mandatory - asking for default value

I have created an Input parameter for a plant (IP_WERKS) in a script view which is not Mandatory. I am currently on SPS11.

The system does not let me save without entering a default value for the input parameter.

Is there any value like '%' which i can enter in the default value and with no need to add any custom logic to be written inside the script view ?

If the front end system like PEGA sends the value of the Input parameter in their query as ' ' since its not mandatory, will it over write the default value '%' ?

Please advice ?

If you are using the Input Parameter in any Filter clause or Calculated column, then the view will ask for Input parameter to be filled.

You can use DEFAULT Value as '%' in the input parameter screen and then add a change like below to the filter clause than it will help in displaying "All" values:

WHERE COLUMN = Input _Parameter OR Input _Parameter = '%'
