Hi and thankyou Tin advance for all advices.
We recently purchase Crystal Report Server 2013 and have install on a Windows 2008 R2 Server. We were advised at time of purchase that with Crystal Server we did not need to buy crystal reports standalone that we would be able to create and modify reports directly. For the life of me I cannot work out how this is achieved.
I have followed the SAP Crystal Server Installation Guide for Windows 2013 SP3. Crystal Reports was installed using the Sybase SQL anywhere database. Attempted to install the Server Client Tools which basically installed from what I can see CR Viewer.
If anyone can point me to where I am going wrong or what I haven't done to allow the functionality of creating reports directly it would be very much appreciated.
Again thanks in advance
Hi Madison,
This is a first for me too.
CR has always been a separately purchased product and has never been a part of the free client tools that come with the CR/BI Server.

I believe Crystal Reports for Enterprise (CRE) might come with CRS, but I'm not absolutely certain. CRE is a Java version of Crystal that was specifically designed to connect easily to .UNX universes (created in the Information Design Tool (IDT)) and BEx queries. It will also connect to other types of data sources. However, it doesn't have all of the features of the full "classic" version of Crystal - especially when it comes to formatting.. You should be able to download CRE from the same place where you downloaded CRS.
If you want the classic version of Crystal to test, you can download a 32-day trial from here: SAP Crystal Reports l Business Intelligence Reporting Tools | SAP

everyone for the help so far - Thanks everyone for your patience and trying to assist with the issue I am facing.
So the "Gettting Started Guide" available here:
http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/crs2013/en/crs2013_getting_started_en.pdf
Under Section "What's included" (Section 1.1.1) identifies "SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise Designer" as an install packages - so this would mean its included no?
If so how does one get the "install package" and the associated key. I did try downloading the Crystal Enterprise SP08 (Package number 51050869_3) however when I run the installer it asks for a key.
I called for Support basically got told good luck go to the forums we don't offer support via telephone, which contains the direct quote of:
"You do not need to buy Crystal reports standalone if you have Crystal Server - You can create reports directly"
+ the "Getting Started guide" advising "SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise Designer".
I am unsure where I am going wrong except for possibly purchasing the software in the first place - big investment made on bad Sales advice and Support documentation it seems.
It would be great if someone from the "Crystal Server Team" could please explain.
Again everyone else who has attempted to assist I do appreciate your help - and I apologise in advance if this post offends I am extremely frustrated given the circumstances.
