For Side Car approach, what is the best ETL tool

Dear Friends,

For a HANA side car approach to implement small portions meaning specific business scenarios for example MRP run etc, what would you think is the best ETL tool. The easy answer is SLT but I am wondering does Data services 4.2 has the functionality for real-time replication or real time data provisioning  ? (real time replication is very important)

This is because the side car set up would be the base for migrating the whole ecc to HANA in the future. Also we can use DS for BW but not SLT.

Will appreciate any opinions.

Hello

Firstly, I wouldn't consider SLT as an ETL tool - its capability to perform transformations is limited, actually its extract and loading capabilities are also limited!

To balance this, Data Services does provide real-time capabilities, however they are also limited.

However, for your scenario of real-time provisioning of ECC data to HANA, then SLT is the obvious choice.
