How to use a Value Driver Tree in SAP BO Cloud?

Hi all,

in this blog post (What's New in SAP BusinessObjects Cloud and SAP Digital Boardroom - May/June 2016) from last month the new "Value Driver Tree"-functionality was announced for SAP BO Cloud.

There also is an official SAP guideline (SAP BusinessObjects Cloud Help) which gives detailed instructions how to implement this new feature by selecting the option "Modeler --> new Value Driver Tree". My problem is that this option does not exist in my SAP BO Cloud. The only available options are "Models" and "Allocation".

I know that the Value Driver Tree is still a Beta-feature, but shouldn't it be available anyway? Or are there specific settings where I have to activate Beta-features first? The weird thing is that in the Story Designer of our SAP BO Cloud the option "Insert a Value Driver Tree (Beta)" is already available.

Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Michael

    Hi Henry, hi John,

Thanks for this information so far!

We have several "Planning Professional User"-licenses and I already created models which use the planning functionality. This works perfectly fine and thats why I guess our tenant should be planning enabled.

    Regards,

    Michael

    Hi,

the only prerequisite i know to use value driver tree, is to have a planning-enabled local model... but i that shouldn't determine the availability of a button!

that said, I'm not sure if this feature is enabled enabled on the public cloud tenants yet.

i think we can expect in the next few days, as the wave update goes out. Perhaps check back here next week with feedback?

    regards,

    H
