Regarding prompt panel not appearing in Business Objects while using stored procedures in Crystal

Hi Guys,

I am using a stored procedure as a data source in Crystal. I am not able to use the prompt panel in Business objects when i save the report to Business objects. If I do not use a stored procedure, the prompt panel appears. But the requirement needs a stored procedure and when I use it, the prompt panel does not appear in Business Objects. In this case, the user needs to open the report each time he or she wants to enter new values for the parameters. Is there a way to make the prompt panel appear in Business objects while using stored procedures in Crystal? Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks and regards,

Ashwin

    Hi Ashwin,

It should as for a input parameter when you have input parameters in your stored procedure. Can you to Schedule it instead of viewing ? and see whether you will be able to see parameters.

    Also..

May be you are saving the report data so, when you go in BO it shows the same results or may be you are trying to click on View option this will also give you the saved data results.

Go in report remove check for 'Save Data with report' from File menu and try to save the report on BO.

    Thanks,

    Sastry

      Hi Abhilash,

I figured it out. I embedded the stored procedure in a sub report and linked my parameters in the main report to those of the stored procedure in the subreport. This removed the set to null issue and also allowed the prompt panel to appear.

      Regards,
