Parallel Optimiser run for TWO versions in one server

Hello Experts

At present we run optimiser in 2 versions (Active 000 and another simulation version 002) with different capacities in SEQUENCE.

Each optimiser run takes 5 hours time, so after 10 hours we are only analyse results.  

Business team want result faster. So we are exploring to run both optimiser run in 000 and 002 in PARALLEL.

We tried this parallel run but it one got failed with error message'Maximum number of users for server module SNP exceeded'.

I checked TCP/IP connection in SM59. RFC connection for SNP optimiser server is maintained as OPTSERVER_SNP01.

Also checked RCCF:Destination for Engines in SPRO. Destination ID SNP01 for SNP Optimiser is there with communication connection as OPTSERVER_SNP01.

How can I able to run optimiser for both 000 and 002 version in Parallel?

What is the possible steps to increase number of users for server module SNP?

Please advice.

Hi all

I got the solution.

Maximum Number of Slots per Engine Destination

Specifies the maximum number of slots of an engine destination in the Remote Control and Communication Framework (RCCF).

In our case there are Maximum Slots defined as 10.

I created 2 SNP Optimiser Profile and for both maintained max. no, of parallel processes as 5.

By doing this I am now able to run optimiser in 2 versions in parallel.

Hi

Please find below the steps which I found on other forums.

   1. Open Transaction Sm59

        Open TCP/IP connections

        and search for RFC connection for SNP optimizer.

        Copy value of RFC connection name ( Eg.OPTSERVER_SNP01).

    2.  Open Transaction SPRO

         Advanced Planning And Optimization ->Basic Settings ->Optimization ->

         Basic Functions ->Maintain Master Data for Optimization Server

         Put Communication Connection value RFC connection name

         ( Eg.OPTSERVER_SNP01).

These are already maintained and I am able to run the optimiser.

But can I run the optimiser in 2 versions in parallel, using same destination and server.

Please suggest if it is possible?
