SAP HANA Database not start

We have installed a Suse linux Enterprise Server for SAP Application 12 SP1 on a virtual machne (vmware vsphere infrustructure).

VM Characteristics:

40 GB OS

16 GB Swap

200 GB Database files

30 GB Logs

35 GB fro sap files

RAM 196 GB

vCPUs: 2 soccets with 6 vcores each

We have installed SAP HANA using SP HANA platform Edition 1.0 SPS12 (SAP HANA DB After installation we have installed on same machine SAP HANA client and SAP HANA studio. SAP HANA studio connected succesfully to SAP HANA Database.

After the succefull connection we have restarted the server (Virtual Machine).

After restart we have run the command "sapcontrol -nr 00 function Start" succefully.

When we are trying to run the commend "HDB start" we get the following error:

FAIL: process hdbdeamon HDB Deamon not running

We can't connect to SAP HANA database (with for example sap HANA studio).

How can we find and resolve the issue.

We want to install SAP ERP on this SAP HANA server.

    Hello Stalianos,

If you can connect using Hana Studio check the latest diagnosis files. There should be some errors in diagnosis files.

What are the statuses of the services? Which ones are green?

If you cannot connect using HANA Studio can you check the latest files in "/usr/sap/<SID>/HDB<nn>/<hostname>/trace" folder.

You can attacht the erronous files to this discussion.
