Hello,
Regarding:
SAP BI4 Client Tools Install - Hard Coding (pre-defining) system name to ensure users hit a certain environment
Our organization has installed client tools on Citrix Servers. We set up our environment so that if our Sandbox App Servers get updated, we have isolated Sandbox Client Tools Citrix servers, and so on for other environments. That way, we can update the client tools on Sandbox without impacting Prod, etc. The problem is that we do not know how to lock down the system/server name, so any user can launch the client tools for Sandbox, but really, they have full control over what server/system name to enter.
I am new to working with Business Objects and I have exhausted my google searches. Can anyone tell me 1) What files control whether or not the "system" is pre-filled or empty? 2) If you can lock this down so that it will only point to one environment.
Megan,
Other options is integrate the Client tools with 3rd party security like Windows AD, this way the user is never prompted with the login screen. User will never see the system name.
Regards,
Ajay
